Matthew Guarino, MS
Mr. Guarino brings more than 40 years of experience in the field of education to the Spire Advisory Board. He has served as a special education teacher at the elementary through high school level, working with students with a wide variety of learning needs. For five years, he was a teacher of teachers at Central Connecticut State University, teaching courses in applied behavior analysis, learning disabilities, emotional and behavioral disorders, and special education law. In addition, Mr. Guarino served as a Middle School Principal for 14 years, where his school was named a PBIS Model Demonstration School and was recognized for its positive school climate by the State Education Resource Center. Mr. Guarino is a graduate of the University of Connecticut, where he earned a Bachelor of Arts in Anthropology. He earned a Master of Science degree in Special Education at Central Connecticut State University, and received his 6th Year degree from the University of Connecticut's UCAPP program in Educational Administration.
