Victoria Newman
For more than 30 years, Victoria “Vicky” Newman has partnered with families, schools, and districts to help students of all profiles find educational environments where they can thrive. A former public-school teacher in Stamford and Greenwich, Vicky recognized early on the critical need for highly personalized support in both traditional and specialized school placements.
In 2003, she founded Greenwich Education Group (GEG) to meet that need. Today, she serves as President of all GEG divisions, providing strategic oversight for The Pinnacle School, The Spire School, Links Academy, Woodhouse Academy, and Meliora Academy, in addition to leading GEG’s Day & Boarding School Advisory Services.
Under her leadership, GEG has:
- Guided more than 3,000 students to successful placements in day, boarding, and PG programs with a 95% retention rate
- Expanded its reach to families from over 200 public school districts across Connecticut, New York, and New Jersey.
- Earned full NEASC accreditation for multiple campuses and pioneered innovative 1:1 and SEL-integrated curricula.
A Certified Educational Planner (CEP) and Professional Member of the IECA, Vicky is recognized nationally and internationally as a thought leader on independent school placement, educational trends, and leadership development. She is a frequent speaker on topics such as special-needs advocacy, transition planning, and in-district service models, and contributes to ASEPS initiatives and panels.
Vicky also serves on the Board of Directors of Greenwich Together and is an active member of NEASC, serving as a Vice Chair of a visiting committee, EMA, and ERB. Her community engagement includes service on the Arch Street Teen Center Board, mentoring in the Greenwich Alliance for Education’s AVID program, and previously serving on the Greenwich Distinguished Teachers Awards committee. From 2010 to 2019, she organized Connecticut’s largest private day and boarding school fair, held annually in Greenwich and Stamford.
In recognition of her visionary leadership, Vicky was named Connecticut Small Business Person of the Year by the U.S. Small Business Administration in 2016 and received a YWCA Greenwich BRAVA Award in 2015.
At the heart of her work is a simple belief: every child can succeed when given the right supports, strong relationships, and high expectations. She continues to find joy in matching students with schools where they grow in confidence, discover passions, and reach their full potential.
