Michael Murchison, BA

Michael was raised in Connecticut as a resident of Ridgefield but has also spent five years living in Shanghai and Beijing, China. He earned his Bachelor’s Degree specializing in East Asian Studies, focusing on Chinese literature, poetry, and artistic movements from the latter half of the twentieth century. Michael has been working with students K-12 in STEM and Mandarin classes since he began teaching in 2017. He is excited to help every student develop an appreciation for the cultural diversity and complexity within and across the geopolitical boundaries of East Asia. In his free time, Michael enjoys translating poetry, playing table tennis and soccer, and competing in online chess.
